Natural Health Practitioners are a higher
paraprofessional branch of naturopathic medicine, requiring
more training than Natural Health Counselors, but less
than Naturopaths. They also usually specialize in certain
areas of natural health practice. Some may specialize
in various massage techniques, and some may specialize
in nutrition as well as massage therapy, aromatherapy,
or any other branch of naturopathic medicine. Sometimes
naturopaths may be called Natural Health Practitioners,
but there are slight differences in the level of proficiency.
They cannot call themselves physicians, as not all of
them are licensed MDs or DOs.
See Naturopath.
